Inter Milan shocks Feyenoord with a clean 3-0 away win.. A tough night for Maghrebi duo Hadj Moussa and Targhalline
Inter Milan secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Feyenoord at De Kuip in Rotterdam on Tuesday 3 November 2026 in UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 encounter.
The Italian giants delivered an impressive response to their recent domestic struggles, taking control of the encounter early before completing a comfortable victory against Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side.
Despite starting with Algeria international Anis Hadj Moussa and Morocco midfielder Oussama Targhalline, Feyenoord struggled to convert their attacking possession into clear opportunities against Cristian Chivu's disciplined visitors.
The defeat leaves Feyenoord with just 3 point from 4 Champions League matches while Inter move to 6 point following their second consecutive victory in the competition.
Bisseck & Esposito put Inter in control before half time
Inter made a flying start, opening the scoring after just 8 minute through German defender Yann Bisseck.
The centre back advanced into the penalty area after receiving a pass from Djed Spence, turned his marker and curled a precise left footed effort into the far corner beyond Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst.
The early breakthrough immediately disrupted Feyenoord's plans, forcing the Dutch side to chase the game against an experienced Inter defence.
Cristian Chivu's men continued to threaten exploiting spaces in Feyenoord's defensive structure while maintaining their advantage.
In the 34th minute, Francesco Pio Esposito doubled Inter's lead, giving the Italian visitors a commanding 2 goal cushion.
Feyenoord attempted to respond through their attacking trio of Hadj Moussa, Nacho Ferri and Luciano Valente but Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez remained largely untroubled.
The visitors consequently entered the interval leading 2-0 leaving Van Bronckhorst facing a difficult challenge.
Zielinski seals Inter's victory in the second half
Feyenoord introduced Tobias van den Elshout for Charles Vanhoutte at half time hoping to improve their midfield balance and mount a comeback.
However, their hopes suffered another blow just nine minutes after the restart.
Piotr Zielinski made it 3-0 in the 54th minute, receiving a pass from Nicolo Barella before advancing into space and directing a low effort into the bottom corner.
The third goal effectively ended Feyenoord's hopes of recovering from the deficit.
Chivu subsequently introduced Ivory Coast international Ange-Yoan Bonny in place of Marcus Thuram in the 57th minute while Henrikh Mkhitaryan replaced Hakan Calhanoglu.
Van Bronckhorst responded with three substitutions in the 62nd minute introducing Sem Steijn, Tsuyoshi Watanabe and Jerayno Schaken.
Inter thought they had scored again in the 66th minute when Esposito finished a well worked attacking move but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR check.
Despite further attempts from the hosts, the Italian side maintained their 3 goal advantage and completed an important away victory.
Hadj Moussa & Targhalline struggle against Inter's defence
The encounter attracted particular attention from African football supporters because of the presence of Algeria international Anis Hadj Moussa & Morocco midfielder Oussama Targhalline.
Hadj Moussa started on the right wing, seeking to exploit his pace and dribbling ability against Inter's defensive system.
The Algerian had already demonstrated his attacking qualities in the competition, having scored during Feyenoord's 3-2 victory over Como earlier in the league phase.
However, he found opportunities difficult to create against Inter's organised defensive line.
In the 73rd minute, Hadj Moussa attempted to cut inside from the right before unleashing a left footed shot but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
Targhalline, meanwhile, featured in midfield and attempted to provide balance between defensive responsibilities and attacking transitions.
The Moroccan also had a chance to reduce the deficit in the 77th minute after receiving the ball from Luciano Valente near the edge of the penalty area.
However, his effort drifted wide of the target.
Neither player managed to register a goal or assist as Feyenoord endured another disappointing Champions League evening.
For Inter, Ivorian international Ange-Yoan Bonny contributed from the substitutes' bench while French midfielder Andy Diouf who has Senegalese roots, was not included in the starting lineup.
