2026 World Cup qualifiers: Dates for the Greens' upcoming matches
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced this Saturday the official dates for the national team's next two fixtures, against Botswana and Guinea, as part of matchdays 7 and 8 of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Two decisive matches for Algeria in September
Algeria will take on Botswana on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou. Kick-off is set for 19:00 GMT.
The second match will be against Guinea on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco. The game will kick off at 16:00 GMT.
Algeria currently tops Group G with 15 points, ahead of Mozambique (12 points). Botswana and Uganda follow with 9 points each, Guinea has 7, while Somalia sits at the bottom with 1 point.
As a reminder, only the group winners advance directly to the final stage of the 2026 World Cup. The four best runners-up will compete in a continental play-off, with a spot in the intercontinental play-off at stake.
