The underperformance of Cameroon's Indomitable Lions didn't surprise me given the endless tensions that have plagued the atmosphere in the Den since the arrival of Marc Brys. There are too many misunderstandings every time the Lions have to travel outside Cameroon. A national team operating at a high level shouldn't experience so many setbacks. In my opinion, the players handled themselves well. When you take a 3-hour bus ride to play such a crucial match without even having a muscle wake-up training session the day after the journey, it's normal for the players not to perform on the big day. It's time for the Cameroonian Minister of Sports to leave the full responsibility to the Federation President, Samuel Eto'o, so he can manage the Lions' matches and put an end to this organizational dysfunction.

Group D standings

Cameroon still holds the top spot in Group D with 9 points after winning 2 matches and drawing 3.

That said, they could lose their lead if Libya or Cape Verde win their matches against Angola and Mauritius, respectively.
