AFCON U-20: provisional ranking of the best third-placed teams in the group stage

The race for third place in the group stage is heating up at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

In addition to the top two teams from each group, the two best third-placed sides will also make it to the tournament's quarter-finals.

Having finished third in their group after completing all three of their first-round matches, Tunisia no longer controls its own destiny and must hope for favorable results elsewhere to break into the tournament's top eight.

Meanwhile, Zambia needs a win against South Africa in Group A to punch their ticket to the quarter-finals.

Senegal finds itself in a similar position, needing a remarkable performance against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to keep their title defense alive.
