Syrian striker Omar Al Somah (36) has joined the ranks of Wydad Athletic Club after the visa issue that had delayed his entry into the United States was finally resolved. The Casablanca club is taking part in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The former Al-Ahli and Al-Orobah top scorer missed the start of pre-season training due to administrative complications in obtaining the visa.

After several days of waiting, the player finally received his visa. He is currently in Switzerland and is expected to join his teammates on Wednesday evening, according to statements made by the club's vice-president, Saâd Dreib, to Egyptian outlet Kora Plus.

Although his arrival is now official, Dreib clarified that Al Somah is unlikely to feature in today's match against Manchester City due to his lack of preparation and limited time. However, the Syrian striker could make his debut in the upcoming group G fixtures.
