With a defeat and a draw, Tunisia has severely diminished its chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the 2025 Arab Cup. However, qualification is still possible if they manage to beat Qatar in the third matchday of Group A.

The Carthage Eagles disappointed their fans, who turned out in large numbers in Qatar, first losing to Syria (0-1) before being pegged back by Palestine (2-2) after squandering a two-goal lead.

For their third match, Tunisia will face Qatar on Sunday, December 7, 2025, kicking off at 17:00 GMT. Even a win in this match might not be enough to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.

Group A standings:

1- Palestine 4 pts (+1)

2- Syria 4 pts (+1)

3- Tunisia 1 pt (-1)

4- Qatar 1 pt (-1)

Tunisia's qualification scenarios

- Ismaël Gharbi and his teammates will be eliminated if they draw or lose.

- If they beat Qatar, the Palestine–Syria match must not end in a draw.

- Tunisia must also improve their goal difference so it surpasses that of the loser between Palestine and Syria.
