Ballon d'Or 2026: PSG chooses its two candidates

With ten representatives for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, PSG is in a strong position. However, the club has decided to narrow down its choice to maximise its chances.

In addition to new signing Ferran Torres, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Marquinhos, Joao Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé are all in the running for the 2026 Ballon d'Or on the PSG side. Who would win if the winner were to be a Parisian?

The last three names mentioned are the leading favourites. Nevertheless, PSG has chosen Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé. According to Le Parisien, the capital club has decided to narrow its focus to two candidates rather than three. A decision had to be made, and Fabian Ruiz paid the price. The Spaniard suffers from a general lack of recognition, even though his performances and trophy haul make him a credible candidate.

Between now and 26 October, when the ceremony will be held in London this year, PSG will highlight Dembélé and Kvara, whom it considers its best chances. It must be said that depending on the progress of the campaign, the performances of one or the other, or even polls, the Parisians could further refine their choice and promote a single candidacy.
