At halftime of this Saturday's La Liga clash, FC Barcelona leads Villarreal CF 2-0 after a largely dominant first half. Following a relatively balanced start, the Catalans gradually took command in front of their home crowd.

The man of the first half is none other than Lamine Yamal. The young Spanish winger broke the deadlock in the 27th minute and doubled the lead just ten minutes later, giving his team a comfortable advantage heading into the break.

At the back, Barcelona's defense stayed alert. The pairing of Pau Cubarsi and Jules Kounde expertly contained the visitors' attacks, while a Villarreal penalty claim for an Alejandro Balde handball was ultimately dismissed after a VAR review.
