Benin: a second withdrawal confirmed for March friendlies
Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has to rethink his plans for the March friendlies. The German tactician will be without Rodolfo Aloko for the matches against Liberia and Guinea.

Rodolfo Aloko will not be able to answer the national team call-up for the March international break due to a visa issue for Morocco, where the Beninese squad is currently based.

This withdrawal comes in addition to that of Olivier Verdon. The central defender got injured last week with his club Ludogorets Razgrad and had to pull out of the training camp.
While Jordan Lawson, the young Huesca U19 defender, has been called up to fill in for Verdon, no replacement for Aloko has yet been announced.
There’s good news regarding the rest of the squad: Jodel Dossou, Yohan Roche, and Mateo Ahlinvi are the latest to join the group.
Initially set to play Palestine, the Cheetahs will now take on Liberia on March 27, 2026, before facing Guinea on the 31st of the same month.
