Bennacer’s situation gives AC Milan pause

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Olympique de Marseille is pushing to secure Ismaël Bennacer on loan this summer. However, this arrangement does not excite AC Milan. The Lombardy club fears that their 27-year-old Algerian midfielder could lose value if he has an underwhelming season in Ligue 1.

The Fennec, under contract with the Rossoneri until 2027, is just coming back from a season marred by injuries and a less central role. While he is no longer considered untouchable at Milan, his profile remains highly sought-after, and Milan’s management prefers a permanent transfer.

Marseille, looking to strengthen its squad without blowing the budget, sees Bennacer as a real opportunity to bolster their midfield. But negotiations are currently stalled over the structure of the deal, and other clubs are closely monitoring the situation.
