In their statement this Thursday, Senegal's lawyers spoke about a likely acceleration of the CAS verdict in the CAN 2025 case.

Yesterday, Senegal officially appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to challenge the decision by the Appeals Jury of the Confederation of African Football to annul the Teranga Lions’ title and declare Morocco the winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Senegalese are hoping for an expedited process before the CAS. At least, that's what lawyer Seydou Diagne told the press this Thursday.

"A CAS procedure usually takes between 9 and 12 months. The idea is to request an accelerated process. But for that to happen, all parties must agree to this procedure. We’ll see what positions the other parties—namely the Confederation of African Football and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation—take. If an expedited procedure is accepted, we could have a verdict within two months," he stated.
