The former PSG and Tottenham full-back is aiming to return to action with an eye on competing at the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.

The two-time African champion (2015 and 2023) sent a clear message to Elephants coach Emerse Faé during the Kampo podcast.

"I intend to play in the next AFCON and the next World Cup. These are achievable goals. I need to find an interesting project so that I can be physically and mentally ready for those moments," said the man with 93 caps and four goals for Côte d’Ivoire.

This is a man with ambition who is always aiming higher. The 32-year-old defender is reportedly being targeted by Fluminense, who were just knocked out of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals by Chelsea.
