Algeria and Sudan face off on Wednesday in the first matchday of Group E, which also features Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

The two teams recently met in the opening of the 2025 Arab Cup, where the match ended in a goalless draw (0-0).

Algeria, the 2019 champions, have failed to progress past the group stage in the last two editions. Sudan are looking to shake things up in this Group E.
