Group C of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations features the reigning champions Nigeria, alongside Egypt, Zambia, and Malawi.

The teams in group C

Nigeria holds the record for most titles, having claimed 12 out of a possible 15 trophies. The Super Falcons, defending champions, are making their 14th tournament appearance. They overcame Benin in the qualifiers (0-2, 1-1).

Egypt enters its third AWCON after two previous appearances that ended with first-round exits in 1998 and 2016. The team returns as a lucky qualifier, benefiting from the addition of four spots based on their FIFA ranking.

Zambia is making its fifth tournament appearance. Their best performance was a third-place finish in 2022, and they reached the quarter-finals in 2024.

Zambia

Finally, Malawi is the underdog of this group and will be making their tournament debut after eliminating Angola (0-0, 2-0).
