The draw for the U 20 flagship competition resulted in the following three groups:

• Group A: Egypt, Zambia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania
• Group B: Nigeria, Tunisia, Kenya, Morocco
• Group C: Senegal, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Ghana
