South Africa also finished top of their group, amassing 7 points after victories against Tanzania (1-0) and Sierra Leone (4-1), a draw with Zambia (1-1), and a loss to Egypt (0-1). In the quarter-finals, AmaJita edged past DR Congo (1-0) before knocking out Nigeria by the same scoreline in the semi-finals.
