Egypt will host the 23rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U-20) from April 27 to May 18, 2025.

Three nations will participate in this flagship competition in Africa for the junior category, including Senegal, the winner of the last edition, which also took place in Egypt.

According to artificial intelligence (AI), four teams are favorites for the final title: Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Egypt.

With a golden generation, Senegal has the necessary assets to retain its title.

In turn, Morocco boasts a large squad mainly composed of players trained in Europe.

On the other hand, Nigeria has great traditions in the competition and can field a very competitive team thanks to its arsenal of professional players in Europe.

Finally, Egypt will benefit from home advantage and supporters, even if it has a less talented team than the other three contenders.

CAN U-20 groups

  • Group A: Egypt, Zambia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania
  • Group B: Nigeria, Tunisia, Kenya, Morocco
  • Group C: Senegal, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Ghana
