CAN U-20: Three "Atlas Cubs" on Regragui's radar

The head coach of the "Atlas Lions", Walid Regragui, will be following the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with keen interest.

Drawn in Group B, the Moroccan junior side made a strong start to the tournament, edging out Kenya with a 3-2 victory.

According to the Moroccan newspaper almountakhab, three "cubs" are currently on coach Walid Regragui's radar.

The Twente defender recently switched his sporting nationality from Dutch to Moroccan. At 19 years old, he has made just one appearance for his club in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal

The young Amiens defender has made a strong impression during his nine Ligue 2 appearances. Notably, he stood out for Morocco at the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ismaël Baouf

The Anderlecht defender has also switched his sporting nationality, this time from Belgian to Moroccan. He has featured in 26 matches this season for the reserve team, finding the net twice.
