Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, and Egypt have all punched their tickets to the semi-finals of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (CAN U-20).

In the quarter-finals, Nigeria edged out Senegal in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 3-1 after a goalless draw in regular time.

South Africa, meanwhile, secured a narrow victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Morocco clinched its spot with the same scoreline against Sierra Leone, while Egypt booked its ticket at the expense of Ghana, prevailing 5-4 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Africa targets a second U-20 World Cup title

The continent will be aiming for a second triumph at the U-20 World Cup. So far, Ghana’s historic victory in 2009 remains Africa’s only title in the competition.
