CAN U-20: Who are Africa’s four representatives at the junior World Cup?
Africa now knows its four representatives for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025.

Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, and Egypt have all punched their tickets to the semi-finals of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (CAN U-20).

In the quarter-finals, Nigeria edged out Senegal in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 3-1 after a goalless draw in regular time.
South Africa, meanwhile, secured a narrow victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Morocco clinched its spot with the same scoreline against Sierra Leone, while Egypt booked its ticket at the expense of Ghana, prevailing 5-4 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Africa targets a second U-20 World Cup title
The continent will be aiming for a second triumph at the U-20 World Cup. So far, Ghana’s historic victory in 2009 remains Africa’s only title in the competition.
