Here are three reasons why Morocco is the clear favorite to claim the crown at this CAN U-20.

A deep and talented squad

Unlike many other African youth teams competing in the tournament, the North African side has managed to field the majority of its professional players based in Europe. It's worth noting that the tournament is being held outside of the FIFA calendar, which led several European clubs to block their African starlets from participating.

A winning culture

Moroccan football has developed a real winning mentality since the Atlas Lions' epic run at the 2022 World Cup. The Olympic team recently won the CAN U-23, and the U-17 side also captured the CAN title not long ago.

Tactical maturity

The Moroccan U-20 squad has shown impressive tactical maturity throughout this CAN U-20. The Young Lions have secured three wins and one draw so far in this Egyptian campaign.
