Champions League: The lesson Vincent Kompany learned against PSG
Vincent Kompany

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany says he took away an important lesson from last Tuesday's Champions League clash against PSG.

In this week’s Champions League action, Bayern Munich secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory on PSG’s turf. This win puts the Bavarians at the top of the table, having clinched all four of their group matches. When asked about his team’s exceptional form, Vincent Kompany explained that he realized something significant after the win at Parc des Princes.

"You have to mentally hit the reset button and change everything. I realized that just minutes after the match against PSG. But we can draw some lessons from Paris; we showed something different in the second half compared to the first, we had to defend a lot. In Cologne, in the Cup, we were switched on from the very start. We need to regain that mentality, it’s going to be a battle. It won’t just be about pressing and possession, but often about set pieces, tackles, and second balls. It will also be about breaking the opponent’s momentum. We drew there last season, so I don’t have much to explain to the guys," he said at the press conference.
