The Foumbot native has already refereed the U20 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Egypt (1-0) in Suez—a true good luck charm for the Moroccans. He has also been selected by FIFA to officiate at the upcoming U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

"Being chosen to officiate this final is a tremendous honor and a great source of pride, considering the importance of the event. There's always pressure at the end of a tournament, but it's also a sign of trust. As the referee of the final, we hold the key to closing the tournament in the best possible way. We must ensure to leave a positive image of this competition for Africa and for the world. With God's help, my team and I will give our very best," he said in comments published on CAF's official website.
