Club World Cup 2025: Four players of African descent make the Top 20!

Several players of African descent made their mark at this edition of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Four of them earned spots in the Top 20 of the tournament's best players.

Leading the way is Sacha Boey, the Cameroonian-born right-back from Bayern Munich, who claimed 4th place in the rankings with an impressive score of 8.2 points.

He is followed by Josh Acheampong, the Ghanaian-born right-back from Chelsea, who secured the 8th spot with a rating of 8 points.

He finished ahead of Michael Olise, the Bayern Munich forward of Algerian and Nigerian descent, who took 9th place, while Jérémy Doku, Manchester City's Ghanaian-born attacker, landed in 18th place with a score of 7.8 points.

Another African player broke into the Top 20 as well—Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou of Al Hilal, who secured the 13th spot in the rankings.
