South Africa’s Bafana Bafana booked their place in the final on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Bloemfontein, clinching a 3-1 victory over Comoros in the semifinal. With this win, they set up a mouth-watering clash against the Palancas Negras for the tournament’s ultimate prize.

Angola, who defeated Madagascar 4-1 in the other semifinal, now knows its final opponent in the Cosafa Cup. Facing Comoros this evening, South Africa managed to seize their chance and clinch the last available ticket to the final.

South Africa to play in their 6th final

Comoros, who had remained unbeaten up to this point, were caught off guard from the outset. After a solid start, South Africa took the lead with an own goal by the experienced Comorian I. Mohamed in the 8th minute. Boitumelo Radiopane doubled the advantage in the 14th minute, before Ibrahim Madi pulled one back for Comoros in the 30th. In the second half, Sebelebele sealed the South African victory in the 60th minute.

In the final, scheduled for June 15 in Bloemfontein, the defending champions Angola will stand between Bafana Bafana and a record sixth title. On the same day, the Comorians will battle Madagascar for the bronze medal.
