Democratic Republic of Congo: FIFA lifts transfer ban on Vita Club

On Monday, April 27, Vita Club received an official letter from FIFA announcing the lifting of the ban on registering new players—a sanction that had been in place since March 17.

The ban was originally imposed due to a contractual dispute with former Mauritanian defender Sid Ahmed Abla. However, both parties have finally reached an amicable settlement, bringing the matter to a definitive close.

This decision couldn’t have come at a better time, as the current transfer window in DR Congo coincides with the approach of the final stages of the national league championship. This means Vita Club will be able to bolster their squad and register new players for the decisive phase of the season before April 29, when the transfer window closes.
It’s a huge relief for the capital club, who have regained their sporting flexibility at a crucial moment in the competition.
