Djeidi Gassama draws interest from two Serie A clubs

Djeidi Gassama could be on his way out of Rangers before the transfer window closes. The 22-year-old Mauritanian winger is being targeted by Parma and AC Monza, but the initial Italian bids failed to convince the Scottish club.

Rangers are waiting for a better offer

Parma and Monza are reported to have tabled offers in the region of €7 million for Djeidi Gassama. However, Rangers have rejected them, believing their player's market value is significantly higher.

Arriving in Glasgow last summer from Sheffield Wednesday for around €2.4 million, the winger is under contract until 2029. This gives Rangers no urgent need to sell. The Scottish club had already resisted interest from other teams like Monaco and Club Bruges.

Gassama impressed despite a challenging season

Djeidi Gassama's debut season with Rangers was a mixed bag. Individually, the winger netted ten goals, but the club endured a disappointing campaign, finishing third. Coach Derek McInnes recently highlighted the player's potential, but also stressed the need for greater consistency.

Gassama reportedly hasn’t always played in his preferred position, which might explain some of the inconsistency in his performances. The 22-year-old, who has been capped three times by Mauritania, still has plenty of room for development and is now on the radar of several European clubs.
