The FC Nantes and Egyptian national team striker, Mostafa Mohamed, has apologized to the Egyptian team's technical staff after expressing his frustration on Tuesday night when he was substituted in the 57th minute by his teammate Hamdy Fathi during the match between Egypt and Sierra Leone, as part of the 6th day of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian striker wanted to clarify his position after his behavior was deemed irresponsible. He appeared angry at his substitution, with clear signs of tension on his face. He also uttered a few incomprehensible words, expressing his dissatisfaction and his desire to contribute more and give his best for his country.

Mostafa Mohamed stated on his official account on the platform (X):

"To clarify, I did not intend to disrespect or target anyone within the team's technical staff or the dear public. I apologize for this unintentional behavior."

Could Mostafa Mohamed be excluded from the next Pharaohs' squad?

The Kooora website, through its private sources, revealed that the coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, is considering excluding the former Zamalek striker from the next Pharaohs' squad gathering scheduled for June 2025.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian national team secured victory yesterday against Sierra Leone thanks to a goal by Ahmed Sayed Zizo in the 45th+2, thus consolidating their first place in Group A of the World Cup qualifiers with 16 points after 6 matches (5 wins and 1 draw).
