FC Barcelona: Ronald Araujo opens up with a heavy confession

Having recently returned to the FC Barcelona squad, Ronald Araujo made a powerful revelation.

Ronald Araujo has endured a tough few months following his disastrous performance against Chelsea. That experience led him to take a break and seek solace in Israel. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, he reflected on this chapter.

"I didn't feel like myself, and that's when I had a realization and said: something is happening, I need to raise my hand and ask for help. I'm one of those people who keeps everything inside, but you also have to understand there are professionals who can help you, who can give you tools to know how to handle certain situations... I needed to raise my hand and say something was wrong so I could recover. In the moment, with adrenaline, you keep going. You feel sad, but then, when the match is over, everything collapses. I already felt it wasn't right, that's the truth, but out of inertia, you try to keep going, and sometimes you need help. I suffered from anxiety for a year and a half, and it turned into depression, and I was playing like that. It doesn't help you, because on the pitch you don't feel like yourself. We know the value we have and what we can bring on the field, and when I wasn't feeling well, I knew something was wrong. That day, I realized I was done, that I needed to talk to professionals and to the club so they could help me," the Uruguayan explained.
