FC Midtjylland: Injured during the summer, Ousmane Diao ruled out for start of the season

The Senegalese international suffered a foot fracture while on holiday in his home country.

Ousmane Diao will miss the opening weeks of the 2025-2026 Danish Superliga season. The Senegalese defender for FC Midtjylland sustained a foot injury while visiting his native country and was forced to undergo surgery.

Ousmane Diao will be sidelined for several weeks. The FC Midtjylland defender picked up a foot injury during an individual training session while in Senegal. Medical tests conducted after his return to Denmark revealed a fracture that required surgery. The 21-year-old Senegalese player has since gone under the knife. The operation was successfully completed.

"This injury means Diao has not yet participated in pre-season and will miss the opening months of the new campaign. He is expected to return after the September international break," the Danish club announced.
