Junior Olaitan has made a particularly strong start to the season with Beşiktaş. The 24-year-old Beninese midfielder, whose arrival at the club had gone almost unnoticed, has become one of the most appreciated players among the Istanbul-based club's supporters.

An arrival away from the spotlight

Junior Olaitan joined Beşiktaş during the winter transfer window of last season from Göztepe. His arrival in Istanbul took place in near-total discretion, to the point that nobody welcomed him at the airport.

His first performances had not entirely lived up to expectations either. The Beninese midfielder still had to find his feet in his new environment and prove himself on the pitch. However, the situation has changed since Vincenzo Italiano took charge of Beşiktaş.

Under the Italian coach, Olaitan has reached a new level. His tireless activity and commitment to both defensive and attacking duties quickly attracted attention. This involvement has now made him a player appreciated by the club's supporters. His work rate and mentality are particularly in line with the expectations of Beşiktaş fans in the Süper Lig and Europa League.

Since the start of the season, Junior Olaitan has played 12 competitive matches, starting 11 of them, for 909 minutes of action. Most notably, he has provided six assists, becoming an important contributor to his team's attacking output. In just a few months, the Beninese international has therefore gone from an understated signing to a particularly popular player in Istanbul. Junior Olaitan must now build on this momentum.
