Süper Lig 26/27: Two Africans lead the scoring charts
After scoring a hat-trick against Istanbul-based club Başakşehir, Gift Orban joined Victor Osimhen at the top of the Turkish league's scoring charts.
Gift Orban, a future “Super Eagle”?
The Nigerian stood out in the promoted side Amedspor's emphatic 5-0 victory. He drew level with his compatriot, who has also scored six goals this season.
With six goal contributions to his name (five goals and one assist), he is one of the most prolific Nigerian players in Europe this 2026-2027 season.
He would be an excellent addition to the Nigerian national team, which will soon be able to count on another top-level striker.
Now 24, Gift Orban plays for Amedspor on loan from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, with whom he is under contract until 2029.

A setback for Osimhen
After scoring twice against Corum FK (2-2), followed by another brace against Erzurumspor FK (0-4), the Super Eagle found the net against Göztepe (3-2) and Basaksehir (2-3).
The 27-year-old striker, who suffered a groin tear, scored in his second consecutive match this weekend against Kocaelispor (1-0), a few days after missing the match against Sporting CP (3-1) in the UEFA Champions League.

Good start to the season for Salah
The Lagos native could fall behind, especially as his absence is expected to continue until the next international break.
The Nigerian duo are ahead of Uzbekistan star Eldor Shomurodov, who has scored four goals for Istanbul Başakşehir, whose run of matches with at least one goal came to an end. Egypt's Mohamed Salah has also found the net four times.
