"Leave Sadio alone"... El Hadji Diouf stands up against the critics

El Hadji Diouf, the former star of Senegal's Lions, has taken a stand against the critics who relentlessly target Sadio Mané.

In a dip in form, the Bambaly native was not spared by Senegalese journalists during the last international break.

This was not appreciated by El Hadji Diouf, who had this to say in a statement to Source A.

It's a false debate. If we're talking about the veterans, the typical example is Édouard Mendy. What haven't people said about Édouard at one point? Today, he proves he's a world-class goalkeeper. We shouldn't create false debates about key players like Sadio [Mané], [Kalidou] Koulibaly, Gana [Guèye]. They are doing extraordinary things. Senegal is a team composed of young and veteran players, and what should be noted is that the group is doing well. We have key players that every team would love to have, so we must keep them, we must respect them."
