Liga: Celta Vigo falls to Elche

This Sunday, at the Martínez Valero stadium, Celta Vigo suffered a 2-1 defeat to Elche on matchday 8 of La Liga.

Elche struck first, opening the scoring in the 18th minute through André Silva. Celta Vigo responded swiftly, leveling the match just four minutes later with a goal from Borja Iglesias (22nd minute). But in the second half, the hosts reclaimed the lead: John Donald netted the decisive goal in the 68th minute, sealing Elche’s victory.

Celta Vigo’s next challenge will be a tough one as they host Atlético Madrid on October 5th at 9 p.m. at the Abanca-Balaídos stadium.
