The English club Liverpool has sent its scouts to Egypt to follow the final stage of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to liverpool.com, this presence is part of the club's new strategy to unearth rare talents capable of making an impact in the first team.

The Reds are looking to discover some African gems who can follow in the footsteps of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who has been one of the key architects of the club's recent resurgence.

Salah also featured at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations

Like many African football legends, the Pharaohs' captain once played in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

In 2011, he took part in the edition held in South Africa with eight nations. Mohamed Salah played four matches in the tournament and scored a goal against Lesotho in the opening match of the group stage.
