Ovie Ejaria nears deal with Real

Nigerian-born Ovie Ejaria is on the verge of making his return to the pitch. The 27-year-old midfielder, a free agent for several months, is set to sign with Real Oviedo, newly promoted to Spain's top flight.

According to Tiempo Añadido, the former Reading player has already completed his medical after several training sessions with the squad. Developed at Arsenal and then Liverpool, Ejaria made his professional debut for the Reds under Jürgen Klopp in 2016. Following less convincing stints at Rangers and Sunderland, he established himself at Reading, who activated their purchase option. Unfortunately, two serious injuries sidelined him from 2022 onwards, to the point where he even considered early retirement.

But his former coach Veljko Paunović, now in charge at Real Oviedo, has reignited his career. Impressed by Ejaria's potential, he wants to make him a key figure in his midfield as they prepare to take on La Liga. The official signing appears to be just hours away.
