Real Madrid: Arda Güler's insane goal against Elche enters LaLiga history

Last night, Arda Güler made headlines with a sensational goal in Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Elche in LaLiga. A truly historic strike.

Spotting goalkeeper Dituro off his line, Arda Güler took a shot from his own half and unleashed a long-range effort that rocketed into the back of the net.

Measured at 68 meters, this strike became the longest-range goal ever scored in LaLiga. It matched Antonio José’s record for Numancia against Sevilla FC in 2004. No Real Madrid player had found the net from his own half in the Spanish top flight since Lasa’s thunderbolt against Sevilla FC in 1995, which was struck from 58 meters.
