The German outlet also reports that the defender has made Real Madrid his preferred destination should he leave, a detail that could prove decisive as talks progress.

Again according to Bild, the player's price tag is set between €40 and €50 million, a sum considered well within reach for Los Blancos. This addition would fit perfectly with Real's intention to rebuild on firmer foundations, even as the club remains in contention in both La Liga and the Champions League this season.
