Spanish Super Cup 2026: Joan Laporta takes a swipe at Real Madrid ahead of the final
Just hours before the Spanish Super Cup final between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Joan Laporta fired some pointed words at Los Blancos.
Tonight marks the final of the Spanish Super Cup between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. But ahead of the clash, Barça president Joan Laporta was asked to comment on the relationship between the two Spanish giants. "Relations with Real Madrid are bad, they're broken, several issues have driven us apart. If we were already fierce and eternal rivals, now we're in a situation where the relationship is just bad. That doesn't mean there's no respect, or that we shouldn't remain civil, but the relationship is completely broken," the Barcelona chief told the press.
However, according to Laporta, the point of no return has not yet been reached: "Everything is reversible in football, just like in life, but it depends on the willingness of both parties."
