According to the Moroccan daily (Al-Mountakhab), citing reliable media sources, the Atlas Lions are attracting interest from several teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in North America next summer.

These nations, eager to assess their squads' level of readiness, are looking to schedule high-profile friendlies ahead of the global showcase.

Norway, Austria and Ecuador target the Atlas Lions

Available information indicates that Norway, led by its star Erling Haaland (25), has officially requested the organization of a friendly against Morocco.

Meanwhile, the Austrian national team has also expressed interest in a preparatory clash. In addition, the Ecuadorian federation has declared its readiness to schedule a friendly match with Walid Regragui's men.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation is currently reviewing these proposals before finalizing the schedule for upcoming friendlies.

It's also worth noting that the 2026 World Cup draw has placed Morocco, fourth in the 2022 World Cup, in Group C alongside Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland.
