Tolu Arokodare continues red-hot scoring form with early header against Twente

Tolu Arokodare is giving Ajax plenty to cheer about since arriving in the summer, with the Nigerian forward continuing to make headlines in the Eredivisie. Sunday's meeting with FC Twente provided another opportunity for the 25-year-old to extend his excellent form.

Arokodare extends his scoring streak

The 25-year-old rose above Aske Adelgaard to head Ajax in front in the third minute, continuing a remarkable run of early goals.

It was his sixth goal in the last five matches, following his brace in Ajax's 6-1 victory over FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Conference League.

Arokodare has now scored an opening goal with a header in three consecutive matches, having also found the net in the ninth minute against Midtjylland and AZ.

Impressive numbers since joining Ajax

The Festac Town-born striker joined Ajax on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer and has quickly become an important figure in Amsterdam.

Before Sunday's meeting with Twente, he had recorded 12 goals and four assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Ajax also have a €20 million option to make his move permanent.

However, the 2-2 draw against Twente denied Ajax the chance to move to the top of the Eredivisie for the first time since May 2025.
