USM Alger and Mamelodi Sundowns meet in Sunday’s Super Cup in Pretoria. Injuries could influence both coaches’ decisions as they select their starting lineups.

One of these clubs will claim the trophy for a second time. USM Alger face Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday, November 8, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 in South Africa, or 14:00 in Algeria.

The South African CAF Champions League winners take on the reigning Confederation Cup champions in a one-off final. Sundowns previously won the Super Cup in 2017, while USM Alger lifted it in 2023.

Sundowns await decisions on Williams and Mokoena

Miguel Cardoso is preparing for the final without certainty over the availability of Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena. The goalkeeper and midfielder are recovering from fitness problems, and their coach has stressed the need to protect their health before deciding whether they can play.

Ricardo Goss is therefore the leading candidate to start in goal. Bathusi Aubaas and Marcelo Allende could partner in midfield, with Nuno Santos operating further forward. In defence, Mothobi Mvala, who started the recent win over Golden Arrows, offers an option alongside Malibongwe Khoza.

Lamine Ndiaye is without the injured Houssam Ghacha and Mohamed Bouderbala. Mohamed El Amine Ramdaoui is another concern: the forward has travelled with the squad, but his involvement will depend on his recovery.

A formation featuring three central defenders is among the options under consideration, with Saâdi Radouani and Rayane Mahrouz providing width. Oussama Benbot is expected to start in goal, while Zakaria Draoui and Glody Likonza could form the midfield foundation.
