Franculino Djú has already scored on his first appearance for Trabzonspor, just four days after arriving in Turkey. The Guinea-Bissau striker came on after Paul Onuachu’s injury and played his part in his team’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği.

He has only just arrived, yet he is already making an impact. Signed on September 2 from FC Midtjylland, Franculino Djú needed just a few days to make his mark in his new colors.

The Guinea-Bissau striker started the match on the bench against Gençlerbirliği before coming on in the 44th minute. Paul Onuachu’s injury forced the Nigerian striker, who had scored twice before leaving the pitch, to make way for the new signing, allowing Djú to make his first appearance for Trabzonspor earlier than expected.

Coming on with his team already leading 3-0, Franculino Djú gradually found his footing in the attacking department. He had to wait until the second half to score his first goal for the Turkish club.

In the 78th minute, the Guinea-Bissau international found the back of the net to make it 5-0 and complete Trabzonspor’s dominant performance. For a debut, it would be hard to imagine a better scenario.

A Goal That Confirms His Striker Profile

This first goal in Turkey is no coincidence. Franculino Djú arrives at Trabzonspor with a strong reputation as a goalscorer, built during his time in Denmark with FC Midtjylland.

In 117 appearances for the Danish club, the 22-year-old striker scored 58 goals and provided 15 assists. Last season, he notably finished as the Danish Superliga’s top scorer with 17 goals in 21 appearances.

Those numbers partly explain why Trabzonspor decided to put their faith in him. The Turkish club have brought in a young striker with significant experience, someone capable of making an impact inside the box and, above all, showing efficiency in front of goal.

A Strong First Impression

Franculino Djú did not waste any time getting his Turkish adventure underway. Arriving on September 2, he met his new teammates just a few days later before finding the net on his very first appearance.

There is still a long way to go, and this first goal obviously does not allow for definitive conclusions. But the early signs are particularly promising.

After making his mark in Denmark, Franculino Djú has already made his first statement at Trabzonspor. The rest of the season will now show just how far the young Guinea-Bissau striker can go.
