Arsenal has not given up on the Christian Kofane pursuit. According to Bild, the Gunners are still leading the chase for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, even after Newcastle United joined the fray.

Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, continues to maintain close contact with the Cameroonian striker's camp. Meanwhile, Newcastle is stepping up its efforts. After sealing the deal for Bazoumana Touré, the Magpies are now targeting the "Untamable Lion."

After a phenomenal season, the 19-year-old striker featured in 44 matches across all competitions for his club, netting 7 goals and providing 6 assists. He also shone for Cameroon in the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Two Premier League clubs are on his trail, but for now, Arsenal remains a step ahead.
