Transfer market: is South Africa the next destination for Fiston Mayele?

The star striker of DR Congo's Leopards, Fiston Mayele, currently under contract with Pyramids FC in Egypt, is attracting significant interest in South Africa.

Indeed, after Kaizer Chiefs made their move, it is now their fierce rivals Orlando Pirates who have officially entered the race to try and secure the services of the Congolese international.

In a statement released on social media, the Pirates publicly confirmed their desire to sign the former Yanga SC goal-machine during the upcoming summer transfer window.

"Orlando Pirates will do everything in accordance with the rules to sign Fiston Mayele, who is currently playing for Pyramids FC," the club announced.

A South African rivalry for the Congolese Cyborg

On their side, Kaizer Chiefs seem far from ready to back down. Confident in their ongoing efforts, they remain hopeful of a favorable outcome.

The South African press is also confirming progress on the deal. The newspaper KickOff reports: "Fiston Mayele is edging closer to the South African league and Kaizer Chiefs."

As negotiations heat up, the arrival of the Cyborg in the Premier Soccer League now seems inevitable, according to the local press.

The only question that remains: which of these two South African giants will win this transfer market battle?
