Transfer window: Marcus Rashford already causing a major headache for FC Barcelona
Marcus Rashford

This summer, Marcus Rashford will be arriving at FC Barcelona. And as he prepares to settle into Catalonia, Barça is already facing a major issue with the Englishman.

In the coming days, FC Barcelona will announce the signing of Marcus Rashford, the much-coveted attacking reinforcement sought by the German coach and Deco. On paper, it’s a great move, especially as Barça finds itself in a rather complicated financial situation. Delays in the Camp Nou renovations are set to cost the club even more money, after they had already budgeted for their return, while Barcelona’s management is still struggling to comply with La Liga’s infamous 1:1 financial fair play rule.

This is going to be a problem with Rashford. According to Cadena SER, Barça still cannot register the striker with La Liga. He may have to wait until August before he can officially join the squad. The club first needs to register Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczęsny, and also finalize certain levers such as the sale of Camp Nou’s VIP seats, which has yet to be fully approved.
