Transfer window: Newcastle targets Yoane Wissa

The Congolese forward Yoane Wissa is stirring up the summer transfer market, with Newcastle now expressing serious interest.

Yoane Wissa has now caught the eye of Newcastle. After negotiations broke down with Eintracht Frankfurt over Hugo Ekitike, the Magpies have decided to make a move for the former Lorient attacker.

With 19 goals for Brentford, Wissa had already attracted the attention of Nottingham Forest, but the club failed to reach an agreement with the Bees despite a €30 million bid. For Newcastle, it will take between €35 and €45 million to buy out the final year of the Congolese international's contract.
