U-17 World Cup: Africa will be represented by 10 nations
The African continent will be represented by 10 nations at the U-17 World Cup taking place in Qatar from November 3 to 27, 2025.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) will use this tournament to test the 48-nation format, which will be adopted for the 2026 World Cup, with the final phase taking place in North America (United States, Canada, and Mexico).

The top two teams from each group in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) will secure their spots for the Qatari tournament, while the four third-placed teams will face off in two playoff matches, after which two additional teams will join the initial eight.

As a reminder, Mali and Burkina Faso have already secured their participation in the 2025 World Cup.
Africa's record in the U-17 World Cup
Africa has won the U-17 World Cup 7 times in the past, thanks to Nigeria and Ghana.
The "Golden Eaglets" claimed the titles in 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013, and 2015, while the "Black Starlets" triumphed in 1991 and 1995.
