The Andalusian side features a trio of African stars: Senegal's Youssouf Sabaly, Congo's Cédric Bakambu, and Morocco's Abdessamad Ezzalzouli. On the opposite side, Chelsea will line up with Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson.

For the record, seven African players have previously managed to lift the UEFA Conference League trophy.
Among them is Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd, who triumphed in 2023 with West Ham against Fiorentina in a 2-1 victory. His compatriots Ayoub El Kaabi and Youssef El-Arabi clinched the 2024 title with Olympiacos, also defeating Fiorentina by the narrowest of margins.
Two other players—Algeria's Saïd Benrahma and Ivory Coast's Maxwel Cornet—won the European competition with West Ham, while Ghana's Felix Afena-Gyan and Angola's David Carmo claimed the UEFA Conference League title with AS Roma (2022) and Olympiacos (2024), respectively.
