The statistics-focused website “sofascore” has revealed the 2024-2025 UEFA Conference League team of the season.

Not a single African player made it into the competition’s best eleven, despite the impressive stats of Congolese duo Afimico Pululu (Jagiellonia Białystok) and Cédric Bakambu (Real Betis), as well as Senegal’s Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea).

An unjustifiable omission, especially since the two “Leopards” occupied first and second place respectively in the top scorers’ chart.

It should be recalled that Chelsea won the 2024-2025 UEFA Conference League after defeating Real Betis in the final with a score of 4-1.

After scoring in the final, Senegal international Nicolas Jackson became the 8th African player to win the European competition, joining Moroccans Nayef Aguerd, Ayoub El Kaabi, and Youssef El-Arabi, Algerian Saïd Benrahma, Ivorian Maxwel Cornet, Ghanaian Felix Afena-Gyan, and Angolan David Carmo.
