The disappointment was palpable on Tuesday night among supporters, executives, and players of Manchester City after losing their last chance at the Premier League title this season.

Pep Guardiola's squad absolutely needed a win to stay in the title race. But a goal from Elie Junior Kroupi for AFC Bournemouth denied the Citizens a victory and crushed their hopes of lifting the trophy.

By drawing against Bournemouth (1-1), Manchester City officially bowed out of the title chase, allowing Arsenal FC to be crowned champions.

Haaland shows his anger and disappointment

After the match, Erling Haaland spoke to the club's official website: ""The whole club should use this as motivation now, we should be angry, we should feel the fire inside our belly because it's not good enough."

The Norwegian striker then added: "It's gone two years now [without winning the Premier League], it feels like forever, and we're going to do everything we can, everyone that will be here next season, to win the league."

Haaland also admitted his team could have done better: ""It was better than last season. I felt we could've still pushed a little more in the league, but again it's over now, so it's easy to say now. And in the end, we won two trophies which is important, but in the end we want the Premier as well.""

To conclude, the Citizens' striker delivered a message to the fans: "Again, the support means everything. They keep on supporting even though we're under 1-0 on a Tuesday night, 8PM in Bournemouth - a long trip! What can we say?! Just thank you! The support means a lot, and we appreciate it more than maybe sometimes we show. We appreciate every single one of you! "
